As falsely stated in the Petition Published on August 31st that Federal salaries lag behind private sector by as much as 35% is incorrect with no data to back it up. Highly educated and experience staff like Doctors, Lawyers, researchers and some SES executives this maybe true. The Fed Gov has hundreds of occupations and series with the majority being compensated far higher the public sector. A "program support assistant" may make $40K-$45K, but in public sector that same secretary roll would be lucky to get $25K-$30K. The Majority of the worker bees in the Fed Gov are well compensated with pay and benefits, (4-6 weeks paid leave a year) if they weren't they would work else where. Please put the 1% raise toward the National Dept. Or... Thank you for the raise!!! We serve because we want to
