The USDA is implementing a new inspection process that is not okay. That process will reduce government inspectors by 40% and replace them with poultry plant employees, thus letting the plants inspect themselves. The lines will be sped up, jeopardizing visual inspections. The poultry will be sprayed with multiple antimicrobials to limit disease yet the opposite will likely happen. Antimicrobials in other industries have already been shown to create multiple drug resistant strains of various diseases and poultry will be no different. Also, many people are highly allergic to these antimicrobials. They will not be listed as an ingredient so will put people's lives at risk. Please do not allow this new inspection process to go through. It is bad in so many ways.
