Background:
Issue #1: Current proposed budget contains a provision for $11 billion cuts for Medicare-funded graduate medical education, which could significantly reduce the number of residency slots of graduates of US medical schools.
Issue #2: Also therein are numerous other cuts to medicare. This will directly hurt everyone working in healthcare and those receiving medicare benefits. Given the President ran on and supposedly is very concerned with the state of healthcare in this country, the following are requested:
1. Resolve that the proposed 2014 budget cut affecting graduate medical education cuts be completely removed.
2. Resolve to reduce the proposed cuts to medicare as much as possible.
