Please, do something with the amount of plastic trash we throw away every day at breakfast/lunch time in our schools!

Created by C.S. on February 18, 2014

My name is Claudia Sandoval del Valle, I work in Purcell Elementary School (500 students) in Mulberry, Florida. Every day I have a lunch duty that is 24 minutes long. Every time a student trow their left overs away I feel sick because each trays has at least three plastic containers on it.
Since 2012 I started a campaign where all students save the plastic containers that are clean and at the end of my duty some kids take our trash to the recycling bin. With sadness, I can tell you that at the end of every week we do not have enough space to put all the trash we save, even when we have those huge trash cans" so I have a very good idea of how much trash our schools produce every day.
If we are teaching our kids how important is the environment, we need to do something!
