China is the world leader in hemp production , The Number One importer of hemp is The United States. A federal ban effectively controls the market by prohibiting its production. If passed it would create thousands of jobs here in the U.S. And farming communities thrive again. It has already been authorized for production and regulation in Oregon with the passing of Senate Bill 676, in 2009 Oregon. Which permits production and possession of industrial hemp and trade in industrial hemp commodities and products. Yet the federal government Has sided with giant lumber companies locally and with Chinese corporations.
