It is sad when people who have been working out of the country and when a chance to return home presents itself, they cannot bring their car because it turns out to be a model never sold in the US. It is sad, in an age where the internet connects the world, providing access to unlimited information and outside markets, to see something I like and being not able to bring it home.
Of course there has to be limits, like not importing cars that have an American counterpart. And if the car is believed not to comply with any USA regulation. make public a list of any modifications needed to make it comply instead of automatically banning it or saying "has to be modified for compliance" and expect us exactly what is needed for the compliance.
