There has been a steep increase the the amount of police brutality seen over the recent decade. WE the people, petition the United States Government to enacted federal laws that protect the rights of the people and the press from the militarized police forces we see all across this country. There needs to be strict and comprehensive rules on when an officer can use his firearm. For no reason, should and unarmed citizen be shot by an officer. Furthermore, there should be no reason police forces are "policing" a peaceful protest dressed in combat uniforms and driving mine-resistant armored vehicles. The police are not the military. Let us enact these laws so that communities across the nation can rebuild the trust and respect they that the police forces deserve.
