Please help create a way for American homeowners to refinance their mortgages to a fixed rate when they do not qualify under Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. I have contacted the Housing Counseling office and they advise that EXTREMELY few banks will help with this type of situation. If we can use tax money to bail out the banks, then the banks have to be willing to bail out their customers. The HARP programs only assist homeowners if their loans are through Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac.
