Please Help the Homeless secure their basic human rights in Hong Kong

Created by A.K. on July 24, 2014

Homelessness is a common social problem regardless of one's economic development. Often, one’s human dignity and human rights are being deprived.
Despite Hong Kong being known for its flourishing economic development, homelessness, led by inflation and low incomes, is being neglected. Seeing the homeless as burden of this prosperous city, the society looks down on them. Even mainstream media rarely acknowledges their urgent needs. Politicians are reluctant in responding towards the opinion of the homeless, for their right to vote is unreasonably deprived due to the cumbersome bureaucracy.
As a country that upholds human rights, we urge the US to address the situation of the homeless in UNHRCC to raise global awareness of this group, so HK authority would take actions to solve the problem.
