The undersigned ask that the President work with the United States Navy to keep the Naval Flight Demonstration Squadron, known as the Blue Angels, from sequestration cuts.
The Blue Angels not only perform at air shows, but the crew visits over 50,000 individuals in schools and hospitals during the season. Showing compassion and promoting the values of keeping grades up and healthy choices to achieve goals.
There is also an economic stimulus created as people travel to attend air shows and in many cases vendors will setup adding to the economic boost. The 2011 GoF air show in Lincoln, NE is believed to have generated apx. $5 million dollars. How much are we losing with each show cancelled this year?
