Am writing in regards to the excessive immigrant visa administrative processing delays that Nigerian visa applicants are subjected to by the US Consulate in Lagos.
A large percentage of Nigerian applicants are placed on administrative processing for several months or even years without being given any explanation as to why, or how long it will take. Often times the investigation can be completed in less than 30 days, however due to reduction in staffing we Nigerians are made to wait unjustly. A large part of the administrative processing investigations involve home visitations completed by a 3rd party field agent. This field agent is responsible for the entire lagos metropolis, which is a tedious job for just one individual. I would like your office intervention in this matter.
