We are calling on President Obama administration to impose visa and economic sanctions on current Armenian government officials as well as their family members, including President Serzh Sargsyan, pm Hovik Abrahamyan, Vladimir Gasparyan, Gagik Khachatryan, Alexandr Sargsyan.
For the past several days thousand of Armenian citizens in Yerevan have been peacefully protesting on the streets demanding from the government to start economic reforms, respect human rights , free dozens of political prisoners, stop unthinkable level of corruption by high ranked officials and oligarchy, strengthen the national security. However, President Sargsyan instead of engaging into a dialog has chosen the extensive use of police force, by cracking down on free media, unlawfully arresting ordinary citizens.
