The United States of America should safe guard the security and legitimacy of its election results by conducting detailed follow up investigations to confirm the legitimacy of the election results when the election results are very close or contentious, as they are close with the November 2016 Presidential election results. It is especially important to go to great lengths to thoroughly investigate, document, and reassure the public in situations when the media has raised the concern of foreign government sponsored actors, as was the case in the 2016 Presidential election, regarding Russian government sponsored hackers.
