The use of the term "lane splitting" here means to ride a motorcycle between other vehicles while moving in the same direction of said vehicles. The argument behind this is it will reduce the number of vehicles contributing to traffic jams, thus clearing up space on the roadways and allowing traffic to clear up more quickly. It will also raise awareness to look out for motorcyclists and should result in fewer injuries/fatalities of motorcyclists. In addition to this, it may prompt more people to ride a motorcycle, which would further reduce the number of vehicles contributing to traffic jams.
