ONE DEATH EVERY 48 MINUTES in the United States is caused by an alcohol impaired driver! The VICTIM of a crash caused by a drunk driver often faces a life sentence and in some cases a death sentence! The offender/the DRUNK DRIVER often spends very little time in jail.
MAKE 25 YEARS THE MINIMUM SENTENCE!!!!!!
There are currently 21 states that have no minimum sentencing!
I personally feel NO state should have a ZERO minimum sentence for vehicular homicide caused by a drunk driver. Law abiding citizens obey the law because there is a LAW. Persons that contemplate breaking the law think twice when severe penalties are the consequence.
Stiffer laws fining drivers for drunk driving are meaningless unless there are significant consequences for driving drunk and taking a life.
