Right now, F1 Visa Validity Period is only one year. It is TOO SHORT for foreign students!! If any student plan to travel to another country after 1 year, they must get a new visa in order to come back to the states.
Applying for a new visa is not so easy sometimes. Especially if a student travel to another country which is not their home country during summer. (For example, a Korean came to the U.S. for studying. After one year, he wants to travel to South America for a couple days. But he can't come back to the states unless he applies for a new visa there.)
*****If the immigration change the F1 Visa Validity Period to THREE or FIVE years, millions of students can save lots of time. It is also good for U.S. embassy as well.
