Please make reducing poverty in America the highest priority. 20.5 million American's need desperate help. The poverty rates are increasing.
The current poverty line was set up in the 1960s based on a poorly constructed social experiment. It is inaccurate, outdated, and well below the cost of living rate. Please have the poverty rate be localized to reflect the different costs of living across America. Please listen to the social scientist and economists on the current cost of living and reform how we need to recalculate the poverty rates.
Please reform PRWOA to add poverty reduction as an object of the law, thus reducing the counter cyclical nature of Welfare.
