Minimum wage would kill the small business owner. I don't think anyone realises how detrimental this raise would be to the economy. It may seem good now, but what happenes when businesses cant afford to pay their employees that minimum? Layoffs. People wil be without jobs. Employers will expect more work out of one person. Exactly what's happening in the large corporations that are penny pinching as we speak (my father has worked for two fortune-five hundred companies and it is happening I promise you). Minimum wage is what teenagers are payed. $8.25 (in jersey) caused a strain on my boss and now we get less hours. Minimum wage isn't meant to be the only income of a person. Please realize that with a raise, everything else will inflate. Eventually we will be raising it to $20.20!
