Please push for a Constitutional Amendment that clarifies "the right to bear arms."

Created by T.B. on January 18, 2013

When the Second Amendment was written, an armed civilian militia was the only protection the country, and the states themselves, had to protect themselves from threats, both external and internal. Also there was no way they could have conceived the types of weapons that would be invented in the future. This is the very reason the founding fathers gave us a way to amend the Constitution. They were wise enough to know that as the country grew, and our society advanced we may need to change the Constitution to fix issues that they could not have foreseen.

Now is that time. We need an Amendment that better defines what "the right to bear arms" really means. The Second Amendment is too vague for modern times. Please propose an amendment that better defines this right in a modern context.
