Waiters in restaurants depend on tips to support themselves. The tips go to pay rent, car payment, food, babysitters, utilities, etc. It has been taken away from us due to the fact that we in the service industry supposedly make too much money. This in fact is only a myth! Without the automatic gratuity customers are now skipping out on tipping on large parties. It is completely unfair to the waitstaff to run their legs off to please a party of customers and guarantee a pleasant dining experience to only be tipped less than even 10% on large checks.
