Please reconsider portions of the proposed Bureau of Land Management budget. We are already far too dependent on foreign natural resources. The elimination of the fee exemption for miners holding 10 or fewer mining claims may put many small scale miners out of business. It is the difference between paying $10 per 20 acre claim to paying $140 per 20 acre claim. Freeing our great country from dependence on foreign natural resources starts with the small scale miner. Don’t help kill the American Dream for 1000s of us. We need to make the mining of natural resources on public lands easier and more profitable not more cumbersome and expensive. We need legislation that frees public lands to be responsibly used for the good of nation. We don’t need more unnecessary rules and regulation.
