Although it is important to respond in a timely manner to an issue of importance , closing this system and restricting its use to petition by a certain date goes against the principles of freedom of speech and redressing the government elected officials for grievances. Responding at a certain amount of signatures is justified to do. Limiting freedom to redress grievances by placing time constraints is possibly unconstitutional.
