In the PX Project,an oil refinery plant will be built in a Chinese city, Pengzhou.It will have a big chance to jeopardize human’s health since the potential pollutants, e.g.PX, are carcinogenic and teratogenic. The fact that this famous tourist city has more than six million populations and receives a large number of foreign tourists including Americans makes the situation much more worrisome. Although the safety of this project had been questioned by many, the construction has been started without enough scientific and critical assessments.
Here, we present a petition to tell the Chinese government to suspend the Project PX until enough reliable assessments have been made by independent authorities so that people's health will not be harmed and our beautiful Sichuan not be damaged
