We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Please repeal EPA regulations that require gas cans to be CARB compliant. We need gas cans with real vents and nozzles.

Created by J.W. on May 07, 2016

Since the EPA regulation requiring all 2009 and later portable fuel containers to conform to CARB specifications, fuel cans have become far less usable. Increased spillage more than offsets the reduction in evaporative hydrocarbon emissions. The lack of a manual vent causes slow dispensing which causes the operator to become more fatigued and thus spill more fuel. Mechanisms that require the actuation of a sliding valve on the nozzle force the user to place undue stress on it leading to the whole nozzle shearing off and spewing large amounts of fuel (very dangerous). Such mechanisms also leak fuel even when operated properly. Please let us have gas cans that work! Let us pour fuel without spillage! These cans are unsafe! These cans pollute! Do it for the children!
