The natural gas leak in Aliso Canyon, just outside the Los Angeles neighborhood of Porter Ranch, began on Oct. 23 and ranks as the worst ever in California. SoCalGas, the owner of the facility, is not doing enough to bring it under control quickly. The company is hiding in a network of various agencies over-laps to avoid quick resolution. It is displacing communities and sickening residents. It is a terrible threat to health, the environment and climate change. Please direct EPA or whichever agency is best suited to take control of the situation and bring the leak to a halt and prosecute and penalize the company and the administrators of the company for not replacing a broken safety device and not controlling the leak fast enough.
