The United States needs a visa option for young adults who want to explore what this country has to offer. Many other countries successfully partake in the cultural exchange opportunity of a working holiday visa. The United States, being the world power that it is, should offer a simpler working holiday visa.
The tourism industry makes a great deal of money. Australia makes $1.3 billion annually through working holiday tourists.
A Working Holiday Visa would need strict guidelines similar to the following - an application fee of $500 along with sufficient funds to support travels, a booked return ticket, an age cap at 30, an issuance cap at 60k yearly with renewal date on Jan. 1st, and it can only be applied for in country of residence so that this cannot be an extension of another visa.
