Please reward our brave servicemen suffering from PTSD with therapeutic animal companions rescued from shelters.

Created by C.W. on December 02, 2012

In recognition that caring for an animal companion who returns unconditional love provides effective relief to the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, encourages healthy habits that facilitate living productively with PTSD, and according to some research may actually heal the core issues of that condition, we ask our government to fund a program pairing combat veterans suffering from PTSD with so-called "therapy dogs" who might otherwise be subject to euthanasia in animal shelters. A therapy dog requires minimal training. A therapy dog is far cheaper than a lifetime of medication and counseling. Therapy dogs work.
