This petition is not for Texans who wish to secede from the Union. It is for those of us living in the other 49 states who frankly would not mind a bit seeing y'all go, and stay gone.
Although I grew up in the Lone Star state, I find my former domicile has become an embarassment to the rest of the union. From looney governors to local official's "disaster preparedness" plans addressing calling out the militia to resist UN government, to the rabid ranting about the "Kenyan" President and "socialism" to the Republican state legislature perverting the redistricting process to an extreme to serve their hyperpartisan agenda.
Now a bunch of them have started a petition to secede from the Union. We, their reluctant step-brethren in the other 49 states, support their efforts to leave.
