People with disabilities and retirees receiving Social Security are once again facing the possibility they will not receive a cost-of-living increase in 2016 to cover the actual 3.9% increase in the cost of living in 2015. Social Security beneficiaries only become poorer and poorer when a justified cost-of-living increase is not adjusted into the Social Security base income, as has been the case on 5 occasions since the 1970's.
Please do not hold our most vulnerable part of society responsible for negligent government expenditures, and at the very least support the Senator Warren and Senator Sander's SAVE Act, which cuts a loophole in the 2015 salary increases of our CEO's, who earn an average of $16,000,000.00 annually to pay for a one-time 3.9% increase in 2016 for Social Security.
