Obama's sanctions, is still sending in troops and weapons into Ukraine's eastern border and denying Russian troop presence. Ukraine just wants to keep its independence and its borders intact. Russia has already illegally occupied Crimea and slowly tries to wedge itself into the rest of Ukraine, so that it can again become a part of what used to be the Soviet Union.
