With only 3 days left before NC voters go to the polls and decide on state constitutional Amendment 1, we ask that you please take a *public* stand and help galvanize us. When you speak, people listen. With a nearly even split on this issue among those who voted for you in 2008, your words matter now more than ever.
This amendment was written with the intent to discriminate against a small segment of society and make straight marriage the only protected legal union, denying any other civil union. If it passes on May 8, families will be ripped apart and their rights and protections denied.
Four years ago, the young people of North Carolina came out to support a man whom we all deeply admired. Now we hope you will hear our call for help as we attempt to turn the tide before May 8.
