This petition requests that the US cancel the foreign aid package to provide 16 F-16Cs, 4 F-16Ds and 200 Abrams tanks to Egypt. The election of Mohammed Morsi, a former Muslim Brotherhood leader and outspoken anti Semite as well as a critic of America, has left the country and region extremely volatile. These extremely effective weapons of war may be one day, in the near future, used against our closest and one true ally in the region, Israel.
Furthermore, at a time when we are drowning in debt with no serious efforts being made to curtail the deficit spending, this expenditure of approximately 1 billion dollars for this reason is profligate. Please reappropriate any unobligated funds and commit the procured vehicles to the US military. Thank you.
