The citizens of Flint, Michigan had their water supply changed by the State of Michigan's appointed 'emergency manager' from Lake Huron to the Flint River as a cost cutting measure. The water in the river was so toxic that it stripped the lead pipes, poisoning the water even further. The situation was ignored for two years, and the state has been accused of covering up the issue.
40 percent of the residents of Flint live below the poverty line, left behind first by the auto industry and then by the financial crash. Please ask the President to visit them, and let them know that America has not forgotten them!
