Please work with Congress to pass a balanced budget amendment. This must precede any successful fiscal reform effort.

In 1986 an operator at the Chernobyl nuclear plant tried to manually insert Boron control rods when he saw the power start to spike on his computer monitor. His actions were far too slow..since the nuclear reaction happens at 10 to the negative 9 power. The real fiscal cliff America faces is the 16 Trillion dollars we owe--the national debt. Our debt is 1.6 times ten to the 12th power. Our debt has an exponent that is 1000 times greater in magnitude than the speed of a nuclear reaction. Like the operator at Chernobyl our Congress is doing "too little, too late" to address this very serious situation. I am convinced that only strong presidential leadership can bring this issue to the American public in such a way that they will pressure their representatives to act. Please act now!!!
