Recently, my little sister was assigned something for her Spanish class. She had to memorize The Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish. This angered me because The Pledge of Allegiance was established in the United States of America, which is an English speaking land. We wouldn't say Canada's pledge in English, so why does my sister have to say ours in Spanish? As an American, I take pride in my land and wouldn't change it to any other foreign language. I understand her teacher is trying to help her students learn Spanish, but they could memorize anything else that isn't predominant to our country.
