Pledge to exercise sound moral judgement in the event of nuclear strikes from, or directed towards, North Korea.

Created by A.B. on March 13, 2013

Though the hostility displayed by North Korea's government will hopefully subside, we must recognize the possibility of military action from North Korea, including nuclear strikes directed at American or South Korean territories or troops.

Therefore, we petition the administration to pledge:

i) not to utilize nuclear weaponry against citizen populations under any circumstances,

ii) to limit the power of any nuclear weapons used in order to minimize environmental effects, and

iii) to utilize nuclear weaponry only against direct hostile threats for whom capture or impediment is not a reasonable option.

We cannot allow the threat of nuclear war to shake our moral integrity and cloud our view of the sanctity of human life.
