In addition to providing objective police footage, this petition would scrutinize and/or cut city budgets significantly and stop corruption by correlating footage with claimed work time.
First, to ensure officers are invested in the wearing any form of camera the city will only pay for the amount of video presented at end of the day. For example, if the standard duty day is 8 hours, there should be 8 hours worth of video captured. During overtime, that amount will be presented instead.
Additionally, any officer consistently having camera errors or working a considerable amount less (consistently) than the established standard workday should be looked at very carefully. These may be the individuals compromising their footage since organized crime probably pays more than their salary.
