This petition will allow for transparency of government spending by allowing all travel to be viewed on a public website which will include the name of person traveling, reason for the trip, total cost, date(s) of travel, destination and agency. This would facilitate an independent and public venting of all travel to insure the public is aware of travel and reasons for why it was conducted. Travel trends could be observed by anyone and this would lead to improved scrutiny of all Federal travel. This reporting would include all travel by all agencies with the only exclusions that are permitted by law for National security purposes. This website would also include a filter mechanism to allow for sorting trips by person, agency, cost reimbursed, reason for trip and so on.
