The Medal of Honor is the United States of America's highest military honor awarded for acts of valor above and beyond the call of duty. On September 11, 2012, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, without regard for their own safety, heroically fought back the enemy during a (7) hour attack on our embassy located in Benghazi, Libya. Although they lost their own lives during the battle, their acts of bravery slowed down the progression of the attack which led to the saving of many other American lives. Acting alone and without the requested aid of their country, they fought until death defending our embassy. As such, we owe them and their family a great deal of gratitude for their actions. We petition that they be presented posthumously the Medal of Honor for their bravery.
