Posthumously award Tyler Doohan, the 8-year-old who died rescuing six from a fire, the Presidential Citizens Medal,

8 year old Tyler Doohan, after already rescuing 6 members of his family from a house fire, went back into the inferno in an attempt to save his disabled Grandfather from the flames as well. Unfortunately, this young hero was overcome by smoke and was found after the fire was extinguished. He was found on a bed in a back room, where he appeared to have succumbed to heat and smoke while trying to lift his Grandfather, his best friend, from the bed to get him to safety. The fearless and selfless disregard for his own safety is only overshadowed by his young age! He is a hero of the highest order, and if he were a service member, he would be recommended for the Medal of Honor! However, due to his age and status, this is the highest award available to him, and we strongly recommend it.
