Petitioning on behalf of Operation Hug A Veteran, a non-profit organization founded in honor of Mrs. Elizabeth "The Hug Lady" Laird, to posthumously present the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Mrs. Laird of Fort Hood, Texas.
Mrs. Elizabeth "The Hug Lady" Laird, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, is said to have hugged over 500,000 Soldiers deploying to or returning from Iraq & Afghanistan during her over-a-decade long selfless mission since 2003. Her kindness, dedication, and love is missed by all Soldier's alike since her death on 24 December, 2015.
Her altruistic actions represent the American people as a nation. Mrs. Elizabeth "The Hug Lady" Laird deserves to be posthumously recognized by our POTUS with the highest award available to a U.S. citizen.
