Based on recent reporting in the Washington Post, it is estimated the President's trip to Africa will cost $60-$100 million dollars to support. While important, this seems hard to justify given the federal workforce is being furloughed during sequestration. Respectfully recommend the President postpone the Africa trip and roll the savings from this trip back into DoD to keep the Department's civilian work force on the job and from being furloughed.
