Power America by recognizing and promoting Molten Salt Reactors as a viable replacement for Light Water Reactors.

Thorium would provide a near endless source of electricity wherever it is implemented due to its abundance. It reacts with enough heat to use our current nuclear waste (such as casks stored in Yucca Mountain) as fuel. It creates enough heat to catalyze other chemical reactions to refine oil from tar sands, separate water into hydrogen and oxygen for fuels etc. Would effectively put the United States in control of the rare earth mineral market by removing thorium (commonly a waste product in many mines) from heavy rare earth production, freeing up wasted deposits and moving refineries back to the US from China--this would create millions more jobs than a thousand wind farms by restarting the primary sector. Light water reactors are 1950's technology, lets start this century's nuclear age.
