We ask that the President submit a bill to congress seeking an agreement to move the country, as a whole, toward permanent Daylight Savings Time.
The Uniform Time Act of 1966 declares that individual states may choose to exempt themselves from Daylight Savings Time, but does not allow states to extend Daylight Savings Time. Any extension of DST must be passed by Congress for the entire nation.
We kindly request that the term "Standard" be dropped, and replaced with the word "Official", as the current "Daylight Savings Time" would become the the new "Official US Time". This would mean that The United States, and her six time zones, would remain on the same time schedule for the entire year, thus eliminating the need to "Spring Forward" and "Fall Back".
