Congressional pay should rise only by the lower of the Consumer Price Index or 3%. Highly respected voices in the country have thoughtfully put forth this suggestion, and it hardly needs explanation. We the People will benefit from the elimination of this unfortunate example of the exaggerated privileged status of the people that we elect.
