The science on climate change is overwhelming. The inevitable disasters that will result from climate change have been explained over and over again by scientists the world over. We need to know what our government is doing to prevent and prepare for these types of climate disasters. The key problems to deal with are as follows:
-Rising sea levels worldwide, estimated at 2-5 meters within the next 40-60 years.
-The increase in extreme weather events, i.e Hurricane Sandy, current winter storms in the Northeast, megadroughts nationwide.
-The effects of both problems above to local and state-level economies.
If we want to live in a habitable world in the future, we need to take action now. Again, the science is overwhelming. We need action that is proportional to the issue.
