Given the recent decisions by the United States Supreme Court 1) allowing limitless contributions for political campaigns, and 2) severely curtailing the power of the States and the Federal Government to control firearms, it is clear that the American epidemic of gun violence cannot be cured until and unless we first Amend the United States Constitution to:
1) Repeal the Second Amendment, and
2) authorize the Congress of the United States and the legislature of the several states to regulate firearms consistent with the applicable legislative processes of such legislatures.
We ask the President to present for consideration by the Congress and passage by 2/3 of the Congress, an Amendment to the United States Constitution consistent with the above.
