At Poinciana Hope, we think It's time we as a nation begin to re-explore ways that we can live more economically, sustainably and more in harmony with the natural environment and our fellow human.
Bees help humanity with pollination services, and contribute to agricultural, food growing and gardening efforts. They also contribute to an aesthetically pleasing world since their pollination services help flowers blossom.
Yet, today due to pesticide use, herbacide use, industrial style mass agriculture, and other things, bee populations are drastically declining. Also, beekeeping is largely restricted by zoning and agricultural laws.
We think that along with banning pesticides and herbacides, beekeeping should be something that is done in residential areas. We need the laws to honor that.
