present a list of political prisoners being held in Cuba to Raul Castro and formally request they be freed immediately.

Created by G.R. on March 27, 2016

During President Obama's visit to Cuba, a press conference was held where POTUS and Raul Castro took questions from the media. One of the questions asked of Mr. Castro by a US reporter regarded pol. prisoners on the island. Castro responded in this manner: Do you have a list of political prisoners? Show me a list and I'll release them. We, the people of the United States of America, would simply like the administration to follow-up on Raul Castro's offer on our behalf. We request the State Dept. provide a thorough list of dissidents and political prisoners being held in Cuban prisons and elsewhere on the island, and FORMALLY REQUEST THAT THEY BE RELEASED IMMEDIATELY. The list should be drawn up by credible groups, since the Cuban gov. has proven to be unreliable in the past on this matter.
