Morris Dees has been standing courageously for many years to defend victims of bigotry and hatred. Morris is very active in identifying hate groups and working to put their organizations out of existence. The Southern Poverty Law Center has also taken the lead on education for schools and for law enforcement agencies on the identification of hate and hate crimes. He has provided our citizens with many tools to combat hate and hate crimes.
Morris Dees is a model of an ideal citizen who acts on his beliefs regardless of the threats to his personal safety. He deserves the highest praise and honor that we can bestow upon him.
